| Hi Gang,
Forgive me if this has been discussed; Can I cut drywall into 2 X 2 pieces and lay it into a dropped ceiling grid...maybe with extra strong suspension wires. (Yes...I'm budget challanged ;^) Also, would properly sized springs in the suspension wires help reduce noise transmission by letting the ceiling "float" a little. Just thinkin. Rich |

| Sure you could cut up drywall. Obviously it will add considerable weight to the ceiling so you'll need to increase the number of wires supporting the grid. I'd also suggest using the premium grid, not the cheap stuff. Realize that most ceiling tiles have some acoustical dampening properties while drywall does not. Not sure about the springs. |
