| Well, I have a bunch of 18" cutoffs and I figured why not trim them down and put them to use in the framed walls in my basement before drywalling.....ie use them as firestops. Is there a desirable height they should be put at...the walls are a little over seven feet tall..... |

| Every 8 feet. Firestops are used in balloon framing to stop the fire between floors. In convential framing the top and bottom plates are the firestops. |

| Well vertically speaking, my top and bottom plate are 7.5 feet apart....I do not need anything horizontly in between? |
