| I am planning on finishing my basement but am uncertain if New Jersey codes require a vapor barrier. I will be putting up stud walls and will insulate as well. Which side does the barrier go on? Does it go between the stud wall and the concrete wall or to the side of the stud wall facing the living space? My concrete walls have been painted a few years ago with dry-lock; I don't know if this makes a difference. |

| See earlier thread . The only change would be to avoid Tuck or Tyvek Tape for sealing joints in foam board as it may not be compatible. And to instead follow the advice of Building Science Corp. and use mesh and mastic, compatible polyurethane foam or, as Owens Corning recommends, use bituminous membrane strips. |
