| I installed a basic drop ceiling in my basement. I used nails in the floor joist and cable to secure/level the frame. The inspector failed me because I didn't use "proper" hardware instead of the nails. He said there are special hangers that are required by code. I was not home and didn't speak to him. I can't imagine that there is really a building code for this? Any help with maybe a specific code would be greatly appreciated.

| Actually they are just recently requiring the hangers here in the northeast, they have been required in Florida for about 10 years. Here is a photo of the hangers and the drill driver point to set them. They are available at both Home Depot & Lowes. |

| Thanks all. So is there a specific code for this? I think my town uses the national standards. |

| "I think my town uses the national standards." Manufacturers instructions plus any other additional code requirements. |
