Basement Finishing, Brick Foundation Walls

Hi everyone,

We have an old house with brick foundation walls. The basement is exactly 7 feet high unfinished. We were thinking of going with exposing the brick walls, and having kind of a loft look since adding a ceiling will cut into the precious space.

A couple of questions:

1. Any advice on how to take some old paint off the brick walls?

2. How do folks go about leveling the floor?

3. Anyone every done or seen a look like this? Mind sharing photos?

You may have to re-point the exposed brick walls to reduce drafts in cold months. And it usually pays to insulate and cover the rim joists.
