I have an area in my basement that I'd like to use as a storage area. I plan to hang drywall using furring strips. I already have 3/4" xps in place. I was thinking of attaching furring strips to the concrete (through the xps) using concrete anchors. Will this work ok?

It will work fine. But the R Value is less than 4.

Take a look at Styrofoam Wallmate, which is slotted for furring and comes in 1 1/2 and 2" thicknesses. Most Codes also require a fire resistant covering on the XPS.
