| I am remodeling my basement. Currently the basement is framed with 2X4 turned sideways. I am therefore thinking of insulating with 1.5" XPS and taping the seams to the studs.
I am also going to insulate the rim joists with the XPS and seal with foam including the sill plate. Does anything need to be done between the sill plate and the edge of the wall? |

| The XPS should be continuous against the foundation wall with the seams sealed if it's not shiplap board. A dimensional lumber wall (2x4 etc.) should framed perpendicular to the room. |
