We have just hired a contractor to do a basement remodel. We've made most of the decisions on basic construction, but are now trying to decide on a floor choice. We definitely plan on using an area rug with a nice pad in the main living space, with either ceramic tile, wood laminate, or some type of vinyl flooring on the complete area. We have ceramic tile in our kitchen and bathroom upstairs, and I love it for the appearance and ease of cleaning, but wonder if it will seem too cold and hard in our basement. I recently saw a type of laminate at Home Depot that resembled ceramic, but came in click-together strips...has anyone used this product or seen it installed? Thanks for any suggestions.
