Treds (and risers) are available. Of course it is necessary to fit them, then stain and varnish. I know home centers have oak.

I'll just offer a consideration and it really depends upon how you will be using the basement. Ours were painted and we found footing to be tenuous when carrying items. Accordingly we carpeted ours, they are quieter now too.

Thanks for the information, but this is a lake house and we really wanted to eliminate all carpet. We were at the house this weekend and I was looking at the stairs again. The previous owner had painted them white, so it would be too much work to try to remove the paint and not sure how the pine would look if we stained it. I will look into the treads and see if we can cover them. If all else fails I will try to find another paint color that might blend in with the oak hardwoods upstairs. We have decided to stain the concrete a rust/brownish color. We saw it at a home this weekend and loved it. If all else fails perhaps I can just do a runner down the center of the stairs.
