water leakage under drywall in basement

We just bought a new home. Originally built in 1907, but remodeled completely studs out in 2011. In the basement we noticed some staining on the concrete floor that was coming in under the drywall on the wall that was up against the crawl space. We originally thought water was leaking from crawl space down and coming into the basement. We had the crawl space inspected and resealed the floor and they said no water damage that they could see. Had a big rain last night and water drainage in basement again. We live on hillside and dirt comes up about 4 feet on other side of drywall to make the crawl space. We have some downspouts on outside of house that are close to house and think they could be some of problem, but wondering if more likely it is coming from the dirt behind the wall than the downspout since that is on the side of the house and not near where we see that water. We have had a couple professions come out and none of them seem to agree on what to do. Any thoughts?
