Basement Radon in older home?

Hello,

I am concerned about the radon levels in our area of the mid Atlantic.

I live in an interior brick rowhome.

Two questions:

Is 'abatement' even possible in a rowhome?

And,

Our forced air heating and cooling system is in the basement. And there are intake vents there. So I assume the basement/radon air gets circulated all over the house.

How expensive is it to do abatement (obviously regional differences, but ballpark??)

Many thanks for any info you all have to share.

    Yes.

You can run the exhaust line inside (often a PITA on a multi story house, especially an older one) or on the outside (and then hide it as a downspout for gutters).
