Sump pump cover

We are getting ready to tile our basement, and have a sump pump in the corner. We have to keep it accessible, of course, but would like to find a way to make it look better. Has anyone come up with a way to make the sump pump cover a bit more decorative?

You could make a plywood cover painted, tiled or carpeted to blend in with the rest of the room. I don't know how you could camouflage the pipe or hose though.

The outbound pipe comes out of near the side of the well and is routed up next to the wall, so the pipe can be hidden by framing in the wall. I'm glad that I can replace the molded plastic cover with plywood cut to shape. That sounds like a perfect solution. Thanks, @worthy.

Just remember you do NOT want to seal the top completely.

Air needs to get into the pit as the water is removed.
