| am finishing basement, considering carpet tiles. do you need to place padding under carpet tiles??? do you reccommend tiles over acid stain??

| I've looked into different tiles as well, and none that I've checked out required a pad...the padding, such as it is, is the backing of the tile. You may want to post this over on the flooring forum to get an answer to your 'tiles over acid stain' question. |

| I don't believe there are any carpet tiles that are made to be installed over pad. There are, however, tiles that have padding already attached to the tile itself. |
