I'm in the process of beginning to frame my basement walls. The existing vertical drains from the upstairs showers and sinks are about 1.5 feet from the foundation wall. Is there any issue with cutting the slab and moving the drains closer to the foundation walls prior to framing so I could enclose them in the wall and avoid having to build soffits for them?

You might want to post your question onto the Plumbing forum. Some photos would be helpful and I'm sure what you would like to do can be done but personally do not know anyone who has moved their plumbing stack.

not looking to move the whole stack, just 2 drains that drop vertically into the basement floor, then traven horizontally underground to the stack. I'll get some pics...
