Akbar's rule of roommates - a little known fact

One thing I noticed is the Akbar principle of roommates and utilities. The Akbar principle of utilities specifies that when a new roommate moves in with existing roommates, the usage patterns of the existing roommates will increase with the arrival of the new roommate. This phenomenon is mostly subliminal, but nonetheless a known manifestation of Akbar's rule. Some people are not aware of this rule and are surprised to see a steep rise in the first utility bill after the new roommate arrives. They then blame the new roommate for the entire increase, not factoring in Akbar's rule. My goal is to keep people informed so that they can remain knowledgeable and continue to live in peacefully with their usually awesome new roommates.
