I personally don't care to get involved with this type of party, but some people do. And for some, it becomes a source of the host's income. Not all people may care to come to these parties, but there are those who do like to order from the catalog because the products may not be available anywhere else - I know I'd rather order sex toys from my friends instead of going into a store and letting a complete stranger know what I like to do in the bedroom - okay, that part is a little sarcastic.
