| Does anyone know if a water softening system can be installed in an individual apartment without affecting the other apartments? |

| It depends on how the plumbing is connected. Some complexes have common loops, with several apartments on one line for hot and one line for cold. Others are plumbed like houses, with individual supplies coming off the main, then splitting to the hot and cold supplies. Do you have your own water heater? |

| OK - it sound slike you might have a separate system: 1) GET PERMISSION FROM THE OWNERS! 2) Call a plumber to come evaluate the possibility and give you a quote. 3) recognize that, in most states, that unit will become the property of the landlord when you leave ... it's "attached". |
