Newer machines heat the final rinse much hotter than the older machines and this is why you see more steam. Also make sure you are using rinse aid and that will stop most of the water droplets for forming.

Thanks! I expected the steam, I was just concerned about the water that ran down the inside of the door after opening...streams of drops. I just wanted to make sure the machine was not defective since it was expensive to me. I did fill it with the rinse agent first. Maybe everyone gets this.

You may have to turn up the rinse aid to a higher setting

I have a new Whirlpool and this happens often. If I don't use Jet Dry or something similar, all the dishes are damp too.
