craftsman 18570dm garage door opener

just installed this and door will not close.Lights are on both safety reversing sensors but door reverses about 12 to 16 inches before fully closed.It is the sensors causing the problem bcause if i pull the trolley release arm the cairrage will travell to fully closed position when not hooked up to the door any ideas, can i somehow bypass these sensors

Make sure the sensors are tightened in place so the beam is consistent. I have a different brand and it was professionally installed but I had problems similar to yours. Mine was under warranty and they came out to check it. The guy showed me that one of the sensors was a bit loose and needed to be tightened.

Also, check the colors of the lights on the sensors. My lights were both on but the wrong color which meant the beam wasn't connecting properly because one sensor was loose.
