Why did washing machine overflow and bubbles come out the back?

I have a whirlpool front load washer model # wfw9400s

I ran the "clean drum" cycle which fills the tub with water to clean it. This cycle releases the most water into the drum. The reason i ran it is because there was white residue inside it from me putting powder in the machine but having the detergent dish set to liqiud. That made it so that the powder could not all be released when i ran a cycle the day before. So i ran the "clean" cycle to get rid of the residue and that made too many bubbles inside the machine.
water started comming from the bottom of the front side and a lot of bubbles were coming out of the vents on the back of the machine.

Is my washer broken or was there just too many bubbles?
Im scared to run it again because my floor got messed up and water creeped under the vct tiles and they lifted up.

Can you offer any advise.
I have had the washer for 5 years with no problems.
I quess i shoud have removed the goopy powdery detergent that did not get released the previous cycle. therefore it might not have overflowed!
