Appliance advice

I need advice on good appliances for my kitchen. Our kitchen is going to be ultra-modern style, very clean lines.

For the wall oven, so far I have picked out the Miele MasterChef H4000 Series H4892BP2 (30" Double Electric Wall Oven with True Convection Oven, Navitronic Touch Control Pad, 17 Operating Modes and ThermoClean System). However, I always like to have several options to choose from. Can anyone recommend another European brand that's similar in quality and reliability? Cost is not a concern, I would rather pay more up front than have the headaches and repair costs with cheap units.

Also, I'm starting my search for a refrigerator, dishwasher, island cooktop & island range hood, and a microwave oven (heard some good things about Advantium). Same concerns here: good brand, reliability, European (or VERY good American) brands preferred.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hoods -- Modern-Aire is excellent in both performance and appearance. They are some of the most helpful in the market to work with.

I would second sfjeff's recommendation on the hood. We've been using our pyramid style hood for several weeks from Modern Aire. It is well made (and made in the USA). The motors are of German origin I believe. The 1200 CFM is just sufficient to pull out all of the effluent from the most aggressive types of cooking you could attempt. We did blacken some fish and it sortof struggled to keep all the smoke in, but it did.

For dishwashers, bosch, asko and miele all get top reviews on this site, and for fridges, liebherr, gaggenau, sub zero, northland, jade (I think?) and thermador are well liked.
