Can Thermador Fridge SS Panels Be Swapped for Custom?

We've decided on the Thermador French door, integrated refrigerator. We plan to have custom panels made and installed. We have an opportunity to grab a stainless steel version of this refrigerator and are wondering if these steel panels can be easily swapped for custom matching wood panels? we know we can order the Thermador NP (no panel) version, but we founda SS unit that offers a real bargain... just wondering.

Usually not. Appliances ordered with the decorative Panels option have a separate, available, trim adapter kit.

We've just installed a custom panel Thermador single-door bottom freezer fridge. Although there is an "accessory" called a "freedom frame kit", I have yet to figure out what that is, and neither got it nor needed it. FWIW, the custom panel fridge also has available a stainless steel door panel set, so I wonder if you're right - that stainless is just another version of the custom panel.

You can make the switch with no problem. You will just need to remove the attachment hardware from the SS panels and switch them to the custom panels.
