Had the burn in procedure been run?

I'm not sure what the burn in procedure is. I didn't see anything in the manual.

Not familiar with this particular stove but a "burn in" is pretty much standard for all stoves. The owner's manual may not call it that exactly. There's probably a section on "before first use" or something similar.

Most owner's manuals will tell you to turn on a vent fan and either run a short self-clean cycle (if the stove has self cleaning) or else tell you to run bake for 30-40 minutes at 500F or so and then run the broiler for a time. The idea is to burn off any leftover manufacturing/shipping oils and etc. and also to get dust and such where it can be seen and vacuumed up.

I suspect that the cooling fan is for protecting the stove's oven electronics when generating a lot of heat with that big burner. It is not unusual to find some dust and manufacturing/packaging detritus on a new stove.

I spoke to them and they said the cooling fan does come on during cooking as well as baking to cool the electronics (even though the book only says during/after baking).

I told them about the strange fiberglass like substance and they denied that the oven had any type of insulation in it, let alone fiberglass.

I thought ovens had insulation in them. This stuff looked like the white fibre I've seen online that's used to insulate ovens.

I don't know what to think at this point.
