gas stove

We just moved into a new townhouse. The appliance package included a Ktichen Aid gas stove (Architect Series).

I used the 'triple tier' burner and after I was done, there was a fan that came on for about 20 minutes. I looked in the manual, and it said that a cooling fan would come on when baking, or cleaning the oven. Is it normal for the fan to come on when cooking?

Also, I noticed a white fluffy bit of debris on the kitchen floor afterwards. I looked at it, and it looked like fiberglass.

Is it possible the fan on the stove/oven shot out some insulation.

I'm now worried that my brand new townhouse has fibreglass fibers floating around. I'm going to call Kitchen Aid tomorrow, but would like some impartial opinions of what might be going on. Thanks for any help.
