LOL it sure is obnoxious, isn't it?! I started wondering it was meant to stay on, it was so hard to get off. As I recall I VERY carefully lifted the corners a bit with a razor blade and took my time pulling it off so it would stay in one sheet. Now that you mention it, I still haven't gotten around to getting the residual glue off, but I'm sure a solvent like Goof-Off will take care of that. In my case it's not in a particularly visible spot, in fact I didn't even notice the sticker for a few weeks.

Kudos to thenaturalhome.com too (where I bought the hood). I emailed them this evening and they responded right away with similar assistance. They recommended WD40 to clean the residue and it worked perfectly!

An orange oil based cleaner, such as Citra Solv, takes care of sticker glue in a jiffy, and is safe for stainless steel.
