I think I would reconsider this brand. After my 6 year fiasco with the Profile series, I am ready to start over. Consumer rated the Hoover Wave highly. (Kelly Ripa commercial)

I am also looking at the GE Profile slide in, but haven't seen that model. Have seen JGS968SEKSS, PGS968SEMSS, JGSP48SHSS, & PGS975SEMSS. The differences are what kind of top (glass/ceremic or SS) & if it has convection. None of these have dual heat. I have heard dual heat can take alot longer to cook, but some people love it. I am looking at gas tops. A friend did just get the electrolux & likes it, but did say the same about heating takes longer.

I don't need dual heat - gas is fine for me. Also, I'm getting an OTR microwave/convection oven.

Yes, it appears the main difference between the JGSP28SENSS model I'm interested in and the Profile PGS908SEMSS is the top - SS recessed cooktop for the Profile vs porcelain-enamel for the others. rtmom2, the JGS968SEKSS and JGSP28SENSS look pretty much the same. The problem is, I haven't seen either of these models - Lowes, Home Depot and local appliance stores all have the Profile on display. They'll sell you the lower priced models, but I feel a little nervous buying it sight unseen. If you've seen the SEKSS model how does it look? Have you seen any reviews on it?

I have not seen any models w/ SEKSS. If this helps ge profile has a good website geprofile.com with all the available models. I too wouldn't buy without seeing the range. You can try PC Richards, they seem to have the largest selection to see. Look for one that says Design Center. (they are larger then a regular pc richards). Good luck we just order the PGS975SEMSS and hope for the best.

I too am considering a ge slide in. Which one did you all end up with and how do you like them?
Is the fan/venting from the oven an issue?
