Installation of Bosch DW SHV45M03UC

Posted by malhgold (My Page) on

We installed this DW and the bottom toe kick area doesn't look right even though it appears that the DW is installed properly. This is a fully integrated panel ready model. The panel will be flush with the cabinets on either side, but the bottom "toe kick" area is recessed so far back that it doesn't line up with the cabinet toe kick. If we pull the DW out so the bottoms line up, then the door panels won't line up. You can see the wood frame at the bottom of the cabinets on either side of the DW. It almost looks like it's missing another toe kick panel, but we already installed the bottom piece that came with the DW. Anyone else have this model that might be able to explain this.

Thanks!

The cabinetry toekick is supposed to go in front of Bosch's black metal cover. Bosch's factory piece will not be flush with any cabinet toekick that I know of.

Miele and Asko's covers are on systems that allow you to move them forward and back to flush out with your cabinet toekick if you're replacing and don't have a piece of toekick to place in front of the machine.

Our new Bosch SHE68E15UC did come with a couple "extenders" that allowed the black, height adjustable, metal toe kick panel to be moved in and out. I didn't need them because we do have a separate wood toe kick panel that covers both the cabinets and the dishwasher.

mrtime - this must be new, I haven't seen it on any BSH dishwasher to date.

i'm assuming i can't "permanently" attach the cabinetry toe kick. So I guess i either need to velcro it or someone else mentioned using a magnet to attach it to the metal panel. I'm also assuming I would have to build up the depth of the toe kick panel so it winds up looking flush with the rest of the cabinetry toe kicks.

The idea is that the "cabinetry toekick ( cherry, white painted, oak ) goes in front of the DW.

The toekick can also be attached with clips if you have euro cabs that sit on legs, with trim screws cleverly placed, or just with small dabs of silicone.

antss - You're apparently correct about the extenders being new. I noted that in the SHE68E15UC installation manual that Bosch lists the "Toe Panel Mounting Brackets" and "Outer Toe Panel" as being on "select models only".

for anyone following this while researching bosch / miele /asko DW's this is a perfect example of why miele is better and more costly. All of their models have the same toekick and the ability to flush out with different cabinet constructions. Asko's all have this feature too.
