30 Inch Gas Cooktop

Hello GW Members -

We are building a new house and I need to pick out a 30 in gas cook top. While shopping for a cook top, I noticed that you can get a 4 or 5 burner in this size. For those of you with a 5 burner 30 inch cook top, do you have enough space for multiple pans when using the center burner? Or should I just go with a 4 burner? We do a lot of cooking in the wok so I like the idea of a larger center burner.

RE: 30 Inch Gas Cooktop

What is the diameter of the wok (seriously, that will answer your question - if the diameter of the wok is say, 18", then you'll have, at most, 6" on either side of the centered wok; if the wok is 12" across, you'll have 9" on either side).

RE: 30 Inch Gas Cooktop

Wok is 12 inches so I should be okay with a 5 burner right?
