It's common nowadays on dryers with electronic controls that the temp is hardset to each fabric/cycle selection on autodry/sensor cycles. Timed-dry allows changing the temperature choice.

Casual-type (perm press) cycles typically use medium heat, so high is unusual but not outside possibility. Since this dryer is new to you, try different fabric cycles, see if the heat setting changes per the selection. If so, consider choosing an autodry cycle per the heat you want rather than the labeled fabric/load type.
