Gas stoves + exhaust

I have read negative reviews about Jenn-air down draft range. We are not able to have an above the range hood due to space constrains. Any alternative suggestions? It is my understating that if one has a gas oven + electric range as one unit, the only option is to have a hood above or have Jenn_air.

We do not want to do with the separate cook top and oven.

I think Jenn-air is the only range + oven with a down draft built in. Am I right?

Check out Dacor - they have pop-up downdrafts that only work with their ranges.

Say what? Were you maybe thinking of a "dual fuel" range and got the oven and cooktop mixed up?

Regardless, you have a lot of options for downdraft venting beside buying a Jenn Air and Dacor unit with built-in down-drafting. There are lots of separate downdraft vent units. Try searching here on "telescoping + vent" and "pop-up vent" for threads on alternatives.Also, check out sites such as Lowes.com and AJMadison.com for choices.

Yes, there are lots of pop-up downdrafts that work with cooktops but only Dacor and Jenn-Air support downdrafts with ranges as far as I know.
