fitting induction with downdraft into a 24" cabinet

Sorry if this is the second posting; I'm new and figuring this out.

I have ordered the granite, chosen the painter and ordered the sink, but figuring out the cooktop is driving me to drink!

We are probably going to install a Miele induction cooktop with a broan downdraft in our kitchen island. I have oodles of room on top, but only a 24" deep cabinet underneath. I have been told they will fit, but that means they will have to be flush. I'm wondering if this causes a problem with crumbs and greasy dirt getting in the tiny space between them. Does anyone have experience with this?
