GE Profile Dishwasher steam on handle

We just moved into our house a few months ago. The dw is an older model GE Profile Dishwasher PDW7800G00BB. I recently noticed an odd smell in the area of the sink and dw and could not pinpoint the source until this morning.
There is a steam vent under the control panel. I removed the vent cover from the inside and noticed a thin styrofoam strip on top of the area where you would place your fingers when you open the door on the outside (not the latch in the middle of the door). This was collecting all the odors I had been complaining about. I tried to clean it but it started to break apart so I removed the entire piece. Now when I run the dw the steam builds up and that handle is wet. I can't find the part online even with the diagram form the GE website.

Does anyone have this problem?
Is it normal?
I just want to see if there is a proper replacement part or something I can do on my own and affix to the same spot to absorb the moisture. OR should I just not worry about it. Thanks!!
