The main trick is to follow the included instructions, don't skip or short-cut any of the steps.

The main sub-tricks are:

1) Apply the adhesive moisture shield to the underside of the countertop per the instructions.

2) Position the drain hose Y-joiner properly (with the hose connections in a horizontal orientation, not vertical such that one hose port is above the other).

3) Route the drain hoses on a loop as high as possible up under the countertop, then straight to the Y-joiner -- DO NOT let the drain hoses sag between the high loop and Y-joiner.

If you're doing it yourself, you're in good hands. It's when guys who install (normal) dishwashers all the time try to do it without reading the instructions that you have issues.

I've had a lot of issues with various DD installs over the years (I keep moving and putting one in, then remodeling and reusing my dishwasher, then having to reinstall it after my pipes get redone, etc.) so the last one I just ordered and installed myself knowing I'd end up having to do it anyway. :P
