There's a post on the Art Culinaire lacanche site that talks about availability of induction tops in the U.S. Looks like it's an option on some of the ranges, or at least it was back in March 2013 when the message was posted. Possibly January, 2015, is what I was told. Only on the ranges that have variable surfaces, 43" and larger, certain models.

Go propane & get a tank if all you have is electric service.
