I too am in the market for a 36" pro range and considering these brands. Consumer Reports ranks the Bertazzoni fairly low, unfortunately, but they rank the NXR and DCS on the higher side. Very confused and would love some feedback.

What confused me in looking at the CR they rank the 30â Wolf gas the same as the Bertazzoni go figure? IâÂÂm so confused not even sure if CR is really the way to compare?

Personally I would take the CR ratings with a grain of salt. They rate on factors that I and some range shoppers are not interested in. For example, I did not want a self clean oven because of all the problems I've heard they have but I think CR rates on this and so certain ranges (e.g. Bluestar) did not fare well. If you haven't already, I'd go cook on the ranges you are considering and get a feel for them. Really think about how you cook and want you want and don't want. These ranges are not all the same. Much like cars IMHO they have their own style, feel, quality, value, power, strengths and weaknesses, dimensions, etc. Fry and egg, bake some cookie dough, boil water, play with them. Find your fit. For whatever it's worth, we ended up with a range CR doesn't review, a Lacanche (frenchranges.com). Good luck.

Agreed on the CR ratings. Saw the Berta Pro today and found it not as solid feeling as we would like. Christy, I would LOVE that gorgeous steel blue color with brass trim Lacanche if the budget would only allow...sigh. laxrox, would really appreciate hearing your opinion on the Ilve as I'm still very interested in that one.

CR is a joke, at least for cooking appliances. I am not familiar with Bertazzoni or Ilve, but which Capital range are you looking at? The Precision, Culinarian manual clean, and Culinarian are all AG yet drastically different ranges.
