Does anyone have the GE Profile slide-in PGS950SEFSS?

I am considering buying the slide-in double oven gas range from GE Profile with the model # PGS 950 SEFSS. I think it is a newer model so there are no reviews on line yet.
Anyone have any experience with it? or any comments on GE Profile gas ranges in general?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

the good

double oven range with a useable good size small oven.
double broiler in the big oven. Broiling for large parties.
GE has a good reputation for ovens.
rather have tri-ring power burner than standard sealed power burner.
no ugly back panel

the bad

the big oven is on the floor. This is ergonomically unacceptable to many.

every burner is different. I guess after a while you instinctively know which is which but two different burners are enough. Three is acceptable. But five different burners on a 30" range?

the ugly

Most places have it at $2800-$3300.
That is a lot for a 30" GE Profile Range.
At $3100 you can get a premium high performance 30" range

Below in link saw it for $2500 which becomes much more palatable.

I am riding on GE's good reputation and rating in Cons Reports for gas oven reliability.
Plus, it's pretty ;)

Brand spanking new model. I don't think that they are advailable for sale least I cannot order them yet so it's gonna be a month or two before you see a review. But deeageaux makes a good point about the lower oven door, down very low to gound making that turkey a chore to get out of the oven.

I really want a double oven and dont have room for wall ovens. My current broiler is on the floor, basically, so that is a feature I am willing to live with. The new oven has a broiler in the top oven so that will be am improvement. I am not going to make a turkey every day.
Re availability, Chicago-area ABT electronics has them in stock, acc to their website. I am going to order in a month or so.

I am kind of in the same boat as you are. I really want this new GE range but wanted to see some reviews. I finally found one and it is a good one, it is on Amazon. Just put in the model number and you should see it. It pretty much convinced me. Hope this helps. If you do good please post how you like it.

Did you decide to order it? I'm thinking about one also. I have looked at the GE Cafe models, but like the slide in look. I'm very interested in feedback from anyone who has used this range.

New question for those who have this range. Is your opening 30" wide as described on the installation instructions? My carpenter is concerned about making the opening 30" when the range is also 30 inches.
Need to know asap! Thanks!!

update: Range was installed in early February. I am loving it so far.
