 o
microwave/convection combo

I am trying to buy appliances for a new home. Can't afford top of the line, but would like a step up from basic. I really like the reviews for the Bosch 500 convection wall oven, but looks like they make terrible microwave/convection ovens. Looks like we won't do the combination wall oven, but wanted to see if any one has had good experience with any other brand microwave/convection combo's for under $1000. that might look ok above a Bosch single oven.

In order for a speed oven to work effectively it has to be 240 volt.

If you buy a 120v the texture of the food is more microwave than convection oven.

The cheapest one is Smeg Classic Design SU45MCX.
It is $1664 online with free ship.

You may be able to find one on ebay, craigslist, or at a scratch n dent cheaper.

Have had 2 Sharp 930s, around $430 over 10 years. Very pleased with performance, probably use it equally in micro and convec modes. Micro is slightly less powerful than others, probably due to larger size of interior. Does particularly well at smaller baking/roasting tasks. Also use dual mode for reheats and faster cooking. Broiling function is not really broiling at all, just high heat, but we use range anyway for that. Am doing another kitchen and will be putting one in there also.
