I'm too lazy to open a new window and cut and paste the link, but Frigidaire makes a 40" range and also makes a very similar one for Kenmore, which is sold at Sears. It's been a solid performer for those who have it, and is very popular. If that's the one, check Sears and look for a sale.

We currently have the Kenmore Elite version of the range you posted. It has worked well for us and, after buying extra racks and appropriately sized pans, I have found that I can fit way more than I initially thought possible into the small oven. I have to admit that I do like the extra cooktop space that the 40" provides.

We also had the Maytag Gemini in our previous kitchen. Both provide a convenient way of getting double oven capability in a smaller space and do a good job for the money, imo.

Frigidaire:

I have the Kenmore-- I like having the burner control up front [no reaching accross a hot pan to dial things down], and I like the gas top.

Like all Frigidaire products, it represents good value for the money. Mine has some issues with the switch on the oven door. I have to lean against it to get the cleaning cycle to start. That's my only complaint after 5+ years, which is cool.

On the downside, though: Having a 40 inch space in your cabs could be a problem down the road if the stove dies. You could replace it with a 36 and a couple spacers, though.

I'm not sure about the idea of an oven under a cooktop, though, not sure there's enough room...
