The old posts that are no longer here generally said that it might be a major company in Europe but that does not mean that the product is any good. European contributors to the forum were pretty generally universally negative, as I recall.

Ariston/Indesit is an Italian manufacturer and it is definitely not THE European leader. In fact, growing up in Germany I have never really heard of them. They seem to be more common in Italy, France, Spain and Eastern Europe.

Miele, Siemens/Bosch, AEG and maybe Asko are much more common in Germany, the UK and Scandinavia. That doesn't mean that Ariston isn't a decent brand, but it might be tough to find a reliable number of reviews for their products.

There is no good reason I can see to take a chance on this DW. It's not really cheaper, more/better feeatures, better looks, ect.. than proven Euro brands available in the U.S.

They don't have a wide distb. network, or a well trained service network should you need or want it.

Miele, Bosch and Asko have been here for decades, have proven models, well set up networks and they have units at the Ariston price points. So why ????

If I were you I would stay far away from the Ariston brand of appliances. They are generally regarded in Europe as a "cheap" brand with poor reliability. It appears the Ariston brand is being pulled out of the USA as we speak. The brand is being liquidated across the US by all dealers. Any purchases of this brand will not have a warranty. To date there is no reliable service in place; even for out of warranty repairs. I knew something was up when I purchased a new Ariston washer & 2 pedastals for cheap ($200.00) last year.

In a recent test of dishwashers, Ariston got the by far lowest rating. Poor cleaning and drying. The best one was a Bosch/Siemens dishwasher, very closely followed by Blomberg (not yet availabe in the US) and Miele.

I'd generally stay away from Ariston appliances.
