Modern Aire vent liner installation?

Posted by marti8a (My Page) on

I was just reading the installation instructions for hoods and liners and came across this sentence: Most wall duct covers attach to hood after it goes in place (use duct cover to space hood from ceiling or soffit, first).

Does that refer to the wood hood or something else? Most of the new homes we have seen lately have the wood hood and cabinets in place, but no liner installed yet.

Which comes first, the wood hood, or the liner?

Wood first, then liner. I had my hood made with a removable front to have the duct accessible.
