| Was in Home Depot today when a couple told a salesman they were interested in buying a KitchenAid dishwasher. The salesman said KitchenAid is now LG. Is that true?
BTW, Home Depot only carries LG. Thanks,

I think the salesman is mistaken. KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool which also makes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Roper, and Amana. Plus appliances for Sears as well.

It's amazing how seriously misinformed salespeeps may be.

No - at least not in Canada. Kitchenaid is made by Whirlpool - we have a one year and 7 month old Whirlpool Horror - the other option would have been to buy the Kitchenaid - same fridge but it had a deli drawer and we don't eat deli (thankfully as many people are having problems with it). In Canada Home Depot does not sell Whirlpool or Kitchenaid and another major appliance retailer has stopped selling the brand due to so many problems with the fans and cooling panels (think us). If you Google Whirlpool Fridge problems you will read the horrors. I expect there is a Dishwasher problem forum as well.

Dadoes, you are so right. In the last 10 years, since so many stores have gone to parttime salespeople, I always know a lot more about any appliance from reading on the internet or GW than they do. I always ask a few questions to begin with that I know the answers to and 95% of the time they make something up and are wrong.
