We will be installing a 48" range and are looking for a 54" hood liner to go above it. The appliance store we have been talking to is recommending Vent-a-hood. I do not prefer the look of them (underneath) and have read that they are noisier than some of the competition, but frankly have had a hard time finding many 54" hood liners to compare with. I see Viking makes a product that IMO has better aesthetics. Can anyone compare these two products and/or recommend other brands I should consider?

Prestige Power Pack is one of the very best.

Modern Aire Power Pack is also very good.

Modern Aire will build a custom hood to your exact specifications at a cost that is quite competitive with the highly overrated Vent a Hoods. That allows you to choose exactly the style you want, and also the blower type, duct location, light sources, switch gear, etc. A total no brainer compared to a VAH. We've had ours close on five years now and it remains of the absolute favorite things in my kitchen (and we OWN a VAH at our lake house and can thus speak from direct experience).

Thanks for the recommendations, they look like nice looking hoods! I'll check them out.
