How hot do the oven doors get on a blue star 60' range

Hi, I am thinking of buying a blue star 60 range or a wolf all gas range and have small children and am worried about how hot the oven doors get on both? If a small child accidentally touches the door, will they get burned? I heard they get extremely hot on the blue star??

The newer Bluestars now have vent openings not only on the top of the door edge but also along the sides. I believe this was done to release more built up heat within the oven door cavity. On my 3 month old Bluestar I can still feel heat but it's not as bad as I had read it to be. Your kids will definitely notice the heat but in my opinion they will not burn. Just teach them to stay far away from the range when it is in use, epecially if you are using the high burners while stir frying.

I think they measure out at 142 degrees if you have your vent hood on.

I'm glad I found this post. I am also concerned with the amount of heat on the exterior sides of my 30" BS oven so much so that last night we decided to purchase an infrared thermometer and hit the sides with it - the temperature ranged from 145degrees to 240degrees- I think that is wayyy too hot. One side of my range will be exposed and the other next to a cupboard. Since my granite is not on yet, we removed the adjacent cabinet and the wood was also extremely hot- wondering if this is going to ruin our custom drawer fronts since they are adjacent to the range. Any info will help.
