Blue Star Wall Oven

Hello,

Just curious if anyone else has had the new Blue Star wall oven installed yet. It seems that they just recently started to ship.

We really loved the cook top and decided to go for the wall oven too because of the no frills design and the infrared broiler. Can't wait to try steaks... FYI we decided on the 120v Advantium to round out the cooking options.

I would think that someone would be pretty eager to share their experiences with the wall oven and suspect that we may be one of the first to get one.

I am waiting for a wall oven and I am told August production September delivery

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

I too would like to hear from anyone who has the Blue Star wall oven. My wife like the french door design.

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Guadalupe,

That's what we heard too from our BS dealer. Guess we'll have a hole in the wall for a month or so once the kitchen is done. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Good luck with yours.

Skwid,

I'll be sure post once I get to try it out.

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

When did people getting delivery order their wall ovens? I ordered a double wall oven at the end of February...no delivery date in sight.

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

I am also interested in the wall oven- and was told in an email form bluestar that "Unfortunately, the wall ovens are still in a holding pattern and our latest release date given to us has been late August to mid September. That of course could change either way."
Another dealer told me that they have not received approval yet-
The double 24 seems like a great deal - 2 for the price of 1 30 - hard to decide- The American Range oven also appears nice and it is more expensive-
Jade also has one but i am unsure if it is gas- but it is french door

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

I should say I ordered the 36" double wall oven at the end of February 2008. I have been told by my cabinet maker who has been talking to folks over at bluestar about specs that they are making/shipping them by size. So first the 24"s then the 30"s will go into production. I believe that he said the 30" were currently in production. I think I'll get my CO without an oven. Will probably be walking across the drive to see if I can use my MIL's frigidaire for a few months.

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

imwishing, Jade killed the French door oven when they got bought by someone. The Jade looked really nice from pictures but looks like the Frnech door oven will not be made.

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Now that it's fall, does anyone have one of these ovens? Seen them? Decided to be the guinea pig and try it out?

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

I would also like to know if anyone has one yet. I'm especially interested in the 24 inch double

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Still not out yet?

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Still waiting here. Ordered in February of 2008, 36" double wall oven. House was completed in August 2008. Might have switched to a different oven at this point if the cabinet had not been custom made for the Bluestar spec's based upon Bluestars estimated delivery time.

I have been told by the distributor for the southeast US (not my sales person) that they are in manufacture and waiting for stickers from UL. They have been UL Certified. Delivery on units is currently slated for Dec, Jan, Feb.

I was also told they were building in Size order. 24" single units will be built, then others in size order. So..I'll probably see my 36" double sometime in February, a year after I ordered it. Thank goodness I live in NC and can basically grill 3/4 of the year. Longer if we have a good winter.

Bumping this thread because I'm very interested in the Blue Star wall oven but would like to hear from folks who have actually used it. Is there anyone out there or are you all still waiting?

The french doors appeal to me as I'm installing a 30" oven in a corner location where there's not a lot of space to maneuver with a traditional oven door.

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

We are still waiting but heard from our retailer that all approvals have been obtained. We are really happy with our BS cooktop and feel like it is worth the wait. Hopefully we'll have ours by February too!

Thank goodness for our Advantium. We have done some unexpected things such as baking cookies and bread, broiling, etc. in addition to microwaving. Otherwise the past 7 months without ovens would have been much more challenging.

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Release date is now listed as 21 Jan you fill in the year

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

I thought I'd bump this thread up one more time on the off chance someone has received and tried their blue star wall oven?

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Nope - not yet. We heard all approvals, stickers, etc. are received. Production in Feb, delivery March. We will check back w/our retailer in a few weeks to see what's up.

Hope we do not regret waiting.

If and when we get anything concrete I'll update the thread again.

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Heard from our retailer the other day that the ovens are in production and will be shipped mid March

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

So.... everyone too busy baking to post an update, right? We can't all still be waiting, can we?

Er... can we?

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

24" ovens are shipping now, both stainless and color. The 30" ovens will ship in stainless starting monday 5/4/09 and color within 10 days. 36" are not in sight yet.

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Bah! I am finding all dates hard to believe.

Here are the facts:
24" SINGLE wall ovens have shipped and are available
30" SINGLE wall ovens will begin shipping next week. They are in production as we speak.
36" SINGLE wall ovens will begin to be produced sometime in mid-May with shipment towards the end of May.
Double ovens will only be achieved by stacking two singles.
I am NOT sure there will be a kit to stack. A shelf will need to be built to support the top oven. Each oven will have to tee-off from a single gas line and there will be two plugs (20 amp will suffice).

There you go!!!

At least I do get a sense that this might happen sometime this year!!!!

"At least I do get a sense that this might happen sometime this year!!!!"

Of course back at the beginning of this thread people got the sense that it might happen sometime in 2008. LOL!

Well I hope it's soon as I'm looking forward to hearing some objective reports.

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Ovens too be delivered tomorrow - not installed for a while since we will need to adjust cabinets but it will be nice to have them!

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Great, panther7. If I'm remembering right you might be about the first person to comment on them first hand, installed and used. Looking forward to the report.

I find it impossible not to ask though, your initial question was posted 10 months ago. When were you made aware that the cabinets needed to be changed?

That aside, best of luck!

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Hi ya_think.

We started getting a clue around the end of the year and confirmed probably in February??? Going in we knew it was a new product and there was some risk that changes could happen to the design. For us the combination of the french doors, IR broiler, capacity, and design were worth the wait. We looked all of the usual suspects but found that the none offered the right mix of features for us. We also wanted a more simple, traditional look so the Wolf rotating control panel for example was a little too space ship looking for our taste.

I think there may have been some issues with the double oven config during the whole gov't testing/approval process that led them to go with the stacking approach, at least that is what our retailer told us. Obviously we are fine on width but two stacked units will be about 6 inches taller than the original double. As a result we are having our kitchen guy come out to decide if we are going to lose a drawer/shelf or just have that cabinet rebuilt. That cabinet is mostly air anyway so we are not losing too much sleep over it.

We expect that no changes are needed on the gas hookup or electric.

Ovens showed up today and are in my garage! As soon as we get them hooked up I'll be sure to post some photos and share my experiences. You will notice that the photos on the BS site are updated now with the *real* ones.

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Panther7 may have gotten a hint in February about the size change...but we were just told yesterday. We are pretty ticked off. We ordered our oven in February of 08. We were given several opportunities to change our order to a different oven by our retailer however we stuck to the bluestar because of the custom cabinet job we had done.

Now I've been living in a house without an oven since August of 08, and just got told the size of the oven changed. I've been in contact with my retailer, with my distributor and with bluestar themselves and no one ever mentioned the size change.

I don't know what's going to happen here...but we're pretty peeved. BTW, what size double did you get Panther???? We're still waiting for our 36".

Laney

 o
RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

30". We heard and another person on this forum confirmed that production started with 24's and progressed larger from there.

To clarify, the oven size has not changed as far I as I know, only that they are not doing a double unit. Double is really two stacked singles resulting in more height in comparison to the original specs due to the additional control panel. Our kitchen guy is coming by on Tuesday to assess our situation.

You waited this long - don't panic on the cabinet if you are only putting in 1. I think the BS web site has updated drawings too.

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

Hello, checking to see how people are liking their Blue Star double ovens? I have room for two 24" ovens, but the price (compared to Kitchenaid, etc) is a bit pricey. Please let me know what you think the pros/cons are vs. e.g the traditional Kitchenaid series. I like the look, especially the handles matching the more commercial look of some of my other desired appliances. Thanks!

RE: Blue Star Wall Oven

So whats the yearly check in? how are the ovens doing? im looking at ordering a bluestar or AR french door... double 30' and wondering how previous owners are doing let me know...

I was dead set on AR, but now im thinking bluestar, but might a little more home friendly..
