Food spilled down overn vents

Hi
I have a Electrolux EW30156CJSC and my well-meaning nanny spilled half a bowl of cake mix into the lower oven door. It went inside the vents and I can see it on the glass. It would need unscrewing to clean. I contacted Electrolux and they told me to get a repair-person out but they couldn't tell me why I cant just unscrew and clean this myself.
I don't want to do it if I will cause damage but at the same time I don't wat to pay $200 if I don't need to..any ideas?

You can definitely do it yourself, but if you are still in warranty you might want to think twice about it because you could void the warranty if you screw up. Linked below is a service manual with pictures and explanations. It's a big file and you might want to hit the "download" button in the upper right corner to save to your computer after following the link.
