| This is the last decision I have to make for appliances. Everyone is so helpful that I'd like your advice on selecting a dishwasher. I'm down to 2 brands GE and Bosch.
My family runs the dishwasher 1x per day and then has enough dishes to fill up about 1/2 load before the next day. So let's day we run 3 cycles in 2 days. My kids are still young and I still pack their lunches. Breakfast is still in plastic bowls. Lunch is plastic containers. What I'm saying is that there is A LOT of top rack action going on. What I like about the GE---
What I like about the Bosch--
I really don't know much more about it than that. Noise isn't so much of an issue since I usually run it before we go to bed. I just want clean dishes in the morning. I've given up thinking that that the plastic wear will be dry so I just unload it into the drying rack in the morning. I do rinse clean my dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. Recommendations...thoughts....advice??? Thanks so much. |

| Given you haven't gotten any specific answers let me give a general expansion. I was looking at a Whirlpool Dishwasher at Lowes, WDT710PAYB that was on sale for $450 stainless exterior and $350 Black exterior, I may be off a bit on the price, but it gives you an idea of the machine being a low/mid priced model. This model has the control function/buttons on the top edge, makes it hard to see when the door is closed. Other Whirlpool models shared the same features and layouts. I was impressed by the very deep top shelf, this could address your need for washing lots of bowels it also offered a top only wash program (best I can recall). Given what you are looking for you may want to expand your question to include Whirlpool. It is a good "old" American brand name, I don't know anything about where it is manufactured, however. The brand has a good reliability record (we have used this brand refrigerator and cloths washers for decades). Good luck, While GE is also a good old American brand it too may be manufactured elsewhere, I'd bet on it given other actions by its CEO. |
