Induction ranges with finished sides?

Posted by crl_ (My Page) on

Are there any induction ranges with finished sides--meaning not the dreadful black sides with stainless fronts ? I'm finding it difficult to tell from online retailers. I'm guessing maybe the Viking (ouch on price)? What about the Ilve (also ouch)?

Thanks for any information!

What do you mean by 'finished'? Finished in Stainless?

RE: Induction ranges with finished sides?

I mean finished in the same manner as the front. So if the range has a stainless front, then the sides would be stainless. If the range has a white front, the sides would be white. And so on. But as far as I know the Viking is the only induction range that comes in anything other than stainless. So finished would by default almost always mean stainless.

RE: Induction ranges with finished sides?

The appliance manufacturers define "finished" as the sides not being bare metal like on slide-ins. By their definition pretty much all freestanding ranges have finished sides even though most are not the same color as the front. I'm sorry, I can't help you with your question but make sure when you are asking manufacturers and dealers about this that you are very specific you want the sides to match the front in color.
