Dishwasher becomes drying rack !!!

We lost our beloved Kenmore dishwasher about june 8, 2012.
It was purchased at Sears about 1991.
So young.

Sure it's door only had one spring but since getting advice from Bestbuy (clean it with vinegar, use the gel capsules and whetting agent, run the hot water first) it has been working really well.

It was leaking.

After about 2 weeks it dawned on me that it is a most capable drying rack.

Really helps.

I know the feeling. We bought a house with a vintage 70's GE DW that leaked from day one. For ten years it served as our drying rack and temporary dish storage. At least the space wasn't totally wasted. We finally replaced it with a new kitchen.

Wow, Good to hear I'm not the only one that uses my dishwasher that way. It never worked that great from day one.

I went to look at new dishwashers and the sales person thought I was crazy because I wanted to know which dishwasher was best at drying the dishes.

The amazing thing is I can remember many many times we would wash the dishes and not put them into the dishwasher.

It is such an obvious thing to do and it works so well.
