I have the 5" riser. After assembling the riser, you remove two bolts from the back of the range, slide the riser into place, then replace those two bolts.

I have the older model gas range, though, and the newer model is somewhat different. You would assemble the riser, then remove the back panel from the range by removing some screws on each side, then position the riser in place and attach it with three screws on each side, then reattach the back panel.

Hello, can anyone tell me if a riser is required to be installed on a 36" wolf range if the tile backsplash goes all the way down to behind the range? Thanks so much!

Ah, the bag of worms has been opened again. What does this particular range require for distance to combustibles behind it per the installation guide? Is the tile on a non-combustible wall (brick, steel, etc., no sheetrock)? Search this [appliance] forum for "riser" to see what kind of a mess people can get into (depending on the range) by not using a riser.
