Redo the cabinet. You think your options are limited now....just wait a few years when what you picked has died. And you still have to fix the cabinet to get something to fit.

Not gonna be changing any handles out either. They aren't the same even within the same brand. You'd need to have a paneled fridge to be able to pick your handles.

I'd like to know the answer to this question too. I want a white refrigerator with stainless / silver/ chrome-colored handles. Because I have a small kitchen I prefer a 33" French door fridge. I'm leaning toward the Samsung and LG models (both come in either stainless or white with matching handles). Do you know if I could purchase a white fridge and separately purchase and install the stainless handles? Has anyone done this?

I would go and pick a model that you are interested and write down the model # and serial # (not always needed) and then call an appliance parts store and see what they say. Note, replacement parts are priced crazy high, new ones can have a long order time frame and special orders are rarely returnable.

Refrigerator handles aren't very interchangeable. If you need a specific looking handle, do a paneled fridge and have your choice.

Ok, guess there's no easy answers for me on this one. Thanks everyone for your feedback. I'll wait to hear back from the KD regarding the cost to purchase a shorter cabinet before I puchase the sxs fridge. Too bad they didn't catch this mistake, but I went through probably 60 design iterations.
