Seeking Miele Induction Cooktop Owner advice

Pretty decided to go with the Miele 36" Induction cooktop, but we now need to decide if we should have it installed flush or framed on the countertop. I'm leaning towards flush, but wanted to seek the advice of those who have had this installed. If you have it flush, is there some sort of gasket which goes around the cooktop to prevent crumbs, and stuff from getting into the seam, if you have it framed, does is it easy to clean given the 90 degree edge? etc...

I realize the finished product will be based upon how good the countertop installers are, but still wanted to get some opinions. btw will be using a soapstone countertop.

Sounds like need a really good fabricator to make it work. We were thinking the same but decided against it although we'll be getting a Bosch induction cooktop and I'm not even sure if the edges are such that you could flush mounted it even if we wanted to (ie rounded).

kmg67 - thanks for your reply. I'm not worried to much about the fabricator, as I the one I'm using has a a giant CNC type machine to do this type of work, as long as they type in the measurement correct it should be fine. I'm more concern about the long term care. Good luck with your cooktop!!

we did the "frame" style, installed about 3 yrs ago and absolutely no problem with crumbs or any type of dirt...

I would have liked to install my Miele cook top flush but was advised against it because of the quartzite counter I have. My slab has some reddish seams running through that are somewhat fragile and we were afraid of compromising the slab. The framed cooktop looks fine and is easy to clean.
